Eberhard Blum Eberhard Blum, musician and visual artist, was a Creative Associate at the Center of the Creative and Performing Arts, Buffalo, New York, from 1973 to 1976, and a member of the Morton Feldman and Soloists ensemble. His honors include the Friedlieb Ferdinand Runge Prize for Unconventional Advancement of the Arts in 1995 and the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Yvar Mikashoff Foundation for New Music in 1998. He writes: "Erhard Grosskopf and I met in the early 1960s while we were studying together at the music academy in Berlin ..." "Then, in 1973, I was invited by Morton Feldman to become a Creative Associate at the Center for the Creative and Peforming Arts in Buffalo, New York. At that time, Buffalo was a center for new developments in both instrumental and electronic music, and I was able to experience the evolution of an art which operated outside of European traditions and traditional academic thought ..." Eberhard Blum is currently based in Berlin, Germany. |
