John Eaton

John Eaton is an internationally recognized composer and performer of electronic and microtonal music. His Songs for R.P.B. was the first composition to involve live performance on a modern electronic music synthesizer.

He has written twenty operas and a number of orchestral and chamber compositions. He has been published by G. Schirmer, Shawnee Press, and the American Composers' Alliance.

He numerous awards include three Prix de Rome, two Guggenheim Fellowships and a MacArthur Foundation, "genius grant".

He has been a Professor of Composition at Indiana University and at the University of Chicago.

Currently he lives near New York City and travels widely presenting his music and lecturing.
